I recall something from a long time ago, that you can't patent an idea, you have to actually have a prototype for it.
On a lighter note, my husband always jokingly says, "an idea is only yours for 30 days." And it is true. Ever notice how you think of something and you say to yourself, "what this world really needs is a ________ " and then, out of the blue, you see someone stole the idea
out of your head and sold it! LOL
