I have A 5 Month old yorkie and am very worried about his breathing. He has kennell cough and has been on antibiotics for 2 weeks. His cough is getting much better, but in the evening usually when he is sleeping he will start making noises as if he is hyperventilating, I wake him up and he continues doing it. His mouth is CLOSED, it is almost as if his JAW is locked and he is trying to breath, he starts breathing realy heavy as if he is hyperventilating. I have to pry his mouth open and he will continue for 20-30 seconds and usually stops. The episodes last for 1-2 minutes. I have called my vet and he said not to worry about it, his throat could be aggravated do to the kennel cough. I do have a tendency to over react as my other yorkie has collapse trachea. Has anyone ever experienced this??
