i've also heard the blanket thing.
you could get a doll and start carrying the "baby" around with you, cooing, and letting your current "kid" know that when the "baby" is in your arms they cannot be in your lap, etc.
if you don't want them going into the baby's room, now might be a good time to start that training. since we have some curious pups, they might want to go see what the noise is all about! (put a tape of a crying baby in there...)
