Oh so sorry to hear she has LP but it is rather quick from diagnosis to the operation. Kallie (maltese) was limping but within 24 hours was ok, she is at grade 2 LP in both legs but is 5 years old and does need surgery. So maybe this is just a flare up. Did the vet tell you at what grade the LP is at?????
