Your babies are so sweet. I notice that they are on carpet. I would suggest that you limit their access to carpet for a while til you are totally, absolutely, 100% sure they will not see it as a bathroom. Once they "go" on it, it will be very hard to stop them.
Could you put the puppies crate close to your bed but not in your bed. When they awaken a quiet "suush" and/or putting your figers in so they can smell them. Might help. That has worked for the puppies that I place. I don't know how old your babies are, but they will outgrow the nightly romp eventually.
I would suggest that you reserve the pennies in a can for instances when you are correcting other specific behavior ie: barking, chewing, and such. To me, the coins/can would not be the way to teach them quiet at night..JMO
