I don't want to cast a dark cloud on your thread but a few things are bothering me and maybe it is just the way you wrote your note but did this woman say she is giving him to you unneutered and with papers? Did she have you fill out an application? Is she requesting a homecheck?
Did you go to petfinder.com or petsfinder.com
Petfinder was setup for rescue organizations and I have never seen them send out an animal that wasn't spay/neuted. If a rescue organization is doing this they have been pulled from the site. Also reputable rescues rarely pass on the paperwork on a rescued animal. They also have people fill out paperwork and do homechecks.
Everything could be fine and for the $300 she is doing vet checks, shots, neuter etc. If none of these things are happening something is just not cricket to me. Petfinder is a wonderful organization that helps rescue but they are not interested in helping breeders sell their pups.
