I am pretty good at being a pack leader, and both dogs walk and mind me pretty well. But omg, my husband stinks at it. UNTIL the other night he FINALLY sat down and watched a Dog Whisperer episode with the Yorkies and the Police Officer dad. He was inspired. The next two mornings, we went for a walk with him holding Coby's (a wild 5 months old) leash and nothing but a different attitude (energy). He was absolutely blown away by the difference in the walk. Coby was a bit confused at first, like, "who is this guy trying to walk me when it's my job to walk him???" But he caught on. My husband enjoyed the walks SO much more AND he felt so empowered.
There is really something to the pack leader philosophy!!
