I struggle with this with Otis but only when he's outside. (when it's MOST important) He's a true terrier! Sometimes he comes right up to the door and stops and looks away. I've resigned to go out and get him when it's time to come in. At least now that he's 3, he doesn't run away from me when I go out and get him. Good Luck!!
