In the kids defense I had a Bichon that was a door darter. If he could get out the door he would run 500 miles and hour. My husband threatened to shoot him several times. He didn't stop for long periods of time. He would just run and run. He lives with another family now and will still do the same thing so they really keep and eye on him. Maybe this was the case with this dog.
