I'm so very sorry for your loss.
We had our dog cremated by herself so we knew we'd get just her ashes back. We didn't have a choice, cause it was in February and the ground was just way too hard to bury her. Her ashes came back in a very nice wooden box. I have it sitting in a cabinet in my living room. For me anyway, I just couldn't put that box in the ground.
