I couldn't do it when Casper came to me at 19 months, and Tammy who came to me at 3 years, but at 8 months I think you could get off with it.
I was afraid to upset them more....I wanted to call Casper - Bobby, but I liked Tammy as it was a "T" ! All our dogs have been a "T" except for Casper and he is unique anyway ! I like his name now, but it took a bit of getting used to, and we often call him "Mannie"
