I wouldn't have left these dogs to fend for themselves and get hurt or hit by a car either ! You have done the right thing - at least you cared enough to do that. I cannot believe society these days is so uncaring....we aren't as bad here in Scotland, but there are cases in some places, though we tend on the whole to be animal lovers.
