This medicine was prescribed for my yorkie after a surgery when he was 1yr old, and he had a horrific reaction to this medicine. He almost died while on Rimadyl. He was extremely lethargic and vomitting profusely. It was the scariest thing in the world. We thought we were losing him, and we had no idea what was causing it until I went online and saw that the dog could go into liver failure... We told the vet, and they said he would be fine on it. We said nope...My hubby and I immediately stopped the medicine, and he started getting better within a day or two. I know it was the medicine. If your dog has ANY type of liver issues or kidney issues at all, I do not recommend this medicine.
I know it is helpful for some dogs, and I'm only speaking about our experience....
