I had to give my son black lab this after she was kick by a horse and now has problems with her shoulder, she been fine on it , it does help with the pain
I don't know about long term , she off and on them , my vet told us that long term it will cause liver problems, I have heard of dogs dieing from it also.
but we have tried a lot of other meds and nothing works as well as this,
they will do a liver test if a dog is on for a long time.
my vet suggest we go awhile and then go off a while millie is 3yrs old she been on it for 1yr now, right now she been off for 4mos, winter is worst time.
or if she swim a lot, so we try to limit that.
