Dogs need both Omega 6 & 3 fatty acids.

Linolenic acid (omega-3) include fish oils (especially cold-water fish such as salmon, mackerel, halibut, and herring). I think the missing link supplies the omega-3 only.

Linolenic acid (omega-6) is found in safflower, sunflower, corn, evening primrose and borage oils. It is also found in poultry fat and prok fat (not much in beef or butter.)

I give my dogs the fish and I buy the evening primrose gel caps to squeeze out in their food.
