Make sure to ask any breeder LOTS of questions. They should also ask you LOTS of questions. You should get a contract that has a health guarantee to protect you and the breeder.

My feeling is that you should not be looking for a specific size. I am sure you have seen the posts from many people stating that their yorkies got much bigger than they were told. There is no way that we as breeders can guarantee a size. Yes, go ahead and ask about sizes and weights of parents and the puppy, just don't be heartbroken if your puppy is not the exact size you were wanting. There have been several new yorkie owners that were ready to give up their new puppies because they were going to be too big. Size does not matter if you are getting a pet. The love and devotion will still be there whether the puppy will be 3 pounds or 10 pounds fully grown.
