Cody gets out of a baby playpen, he has been doing this since he was a few months old too! he gets either his toes or his nails in the mesh and climbs out! I've caught him doing that. I've tried to put a top on it. The first time I put a blanket, well he pulled it down and climbed out. Then we put a baby gate on top, it worked but he was trying very hard to pull that down too and I was scared he would hurt himself if I left him alone and he pulled it down. So the playpen is put away and we have to leave him he gets put in the kitchen with the baby gates blocking him (that is until he figures out how to climb over those too)!
