But I'll take a chance at the 1st
I believe the answer is yes..young dogs do know.
My 12 yr old snaps and growl at the younger ones and they know to leave or play dead..He never hurts them except there pride.
But he also plays with them and the seem to not play so rough
My young ones also know to leave his toys alone and stay away from his chair
I think the young just respect him now
