Hi everyone! Lately I've been thinking about getting a puppy, and I think I have my heart set on a little Yorkie. I'm trying to do my research and learn from this forum so that I can be prepared when I take my little baby doll home.
I've been having some difficulty finding reputable Yorkie breeders in my area (I live in Ontario, Canada). They seem to all be letting the puppies go at 7-8 weeks, which I beleive to be too young. I've been looking at the breeders' reviews on this forum and I'm very interested in purchasing a puppy from
www.starlightsyorkies.com. I was wondering if anybody else has had any experience (good or bad) with this breeder? I'm a little scared to have one shipped to me, as it would probably be a 6 hour flight, and I know that flying can be very stressful for a puppy. However, since I just can't seem to find a good breeder within driving distance, it seems to be my only option right now.
Also, I was wondering what you guys think about tiny Yorkies? I would really like mine to be 3-4lbs full grown, but I've heard that small ones can often have various health issues. Do you think it's better to get one in the 5-7lbs range? I'm also undecided on whether to get a male or female. How did you guys decide which sex you wanted to own? Thanks in advance for your help and answers! All your babies are absolutely precious and it melts my heart to look at them all
