Perhaps if he forces the issue and makes you give her up he will have seen how much you want one and will get you a puppy. I am assuming she is spayed and was at one point house broken. If she was once housebroken she will not be too hard to retrain. I know! Test her out and see if she knows any tricks. Tricks get to men. Get some treats and see if you can teach her to sit. I can't tell you how tickled I was when my first puppy sat for me. I had to show everyone I knew. Then I taught him down and had to show that to everyone too. See if she knows how to chase a ball or catch a frisbee. If she will shake hands, he can't help but notice. It's worth a shot. Sylvia

PS Also if you know anyone who is a trainer and maybe able to refresh Cheeky's memory, it might be worth it to give at least one lesson.
