My first was a boy (I didn't pick) He had been sick and I was caring for him then he became mine. I loved Duke with all my heart, but he did mark everything. I was hoping he'd grow out of that. When I lost Duke at 11 months old in June. I wanted another puppy. I thought I wanted a girl so I would not "Compare" the new puppy to Duke. But I was offered a boy, Gizmo, and I couldn't refuse him. He is alot different then Duke, NO COMPARING THEM" He is healthly and active. Then a month later, I was offered a girl, Duke's younger sister, so Lacie joined our family.
She is timid and shy but not because she's a girl, because she was in a kennel for 5 months of life. They are all different.
If you can get both a girl and boy - GREAT go for it.
IF NOT....then go and see them, and see who you fall in love with and don't look underneath until after you chose.
That way you are picking a puppy....not a boy or girl.
Good luck either way.
