My first rescue, my precious Chester, had trouble with yeast infections in his ears. I must tell you, it was not easy to clear up. Always use all of the medication and try to keep the pup's ears dry when bathing. Leaving water in their ears can cause the infections. Yes, it's difficult to bathe them without getting their ears wet, so you might consider talking to a groomer about how best to avoid the ears.
I always dried Chester's ears very well and cleaned them with q-tips. You do have to be careful not to push any debris further down into their ears.
