I am not trying to rush either. Just curious to when |
you never give a newborn a bath. in fact, my babies don't get the first one till about seven or eight weeks and only then if they need it. you have to make sure they are a hundred percent dry. i like to wait a couple of weeks longer. As to seeing the rest of the furfamily, mine stay with mama in the x-peen until I decide they have grown enough to be in the room with the others and after they have at least the first puppy shot. At about five weeks, i start letting mama out with the others a few hours a day extending it each day so that by the time they are six or seven weeks old, she is only with them at night, other than nursing times. when i do let the puppies out with the others, I only put them in for a few minutes under my watchful eye and gradually, as they get used to it, I lengthen the time. Depending on the size of the puppies (i have some that are smaller), I let them move permanently to the "big room" at about eight or nine weeks. others might do it different but this is how i do it. Oh, the x-pen is in my bedroom and sometimes when I let the other dogs out of their room, on their outside, they take a turn and go look at the babies thru the holes in the x-pen.
