I let Gracie's puppy coat pretty much grow out until she was about 13 months old. She tangled where the puppy hair met the adult coat. She looked so funny with half silver, half black in length. At the last trip to the groomer, I had her clipped to about 1 1/2" length. All of the puppy hair is gone, except for a tiny spot on the tip of her tail. Her adult coat is so soft and shiny. I wish I had done this several months ago.
