You know, once they find their place in your heart (which takes only minutes) - none of us truly care about where or if they're registered, etc. unless you're planning to show or breed, etc.
Look at the mom and dad, ask about health issues, and make the breeder be straight and honest with you. If it all sounds legit, do just lke you said, follow your heart. And if it doesn't sound legit, you heart will tell you that also
