I'll hold your hand, Jeannie. I'm so sorry for all you and your husband are going through and I'll pray for you both. I know a man who just had his foot amputated. He wasn't diabetic, but he fell off a ladder about a year ago and crushed his heel and the bones in his foot. He had surgery and it didn't help and could have opted for another surgery, but he would have to lay perfectly still for 4 months, and couldn't stand the thought of that. His wife was so sick about him getting his foot amputated that she couldn't even talk about it, but one day she told me about it. He's doing really well now...he had that phantom pain, but that is much less now. It's been about 6 weeks since he had it done. He was getting fitted for a prothesis today and he has talked to others that have had this done and they are all doing well also. I hope and pray it doesn't come to amputation for your husband. Sending hugs and love. |
