If I were you, instead of picking a specific breed, I would rescue an older dog that has had child experience. Take you daughter to shelters or adoption clinics at PetSmart and PetCo and let her interact with the dogs and see which one is best for you all. Yorkie puppies are high maintence when it comes to attention and are a little rambunctious. Being that you daughter is only 9 months, she's pulling at things and a puppy may have the urge to bite no matter what breed. Also, puppies nibble and might scare your daughter. If you get an older one that has been around children, he/she might be able to tolerate some mild baby like things that your daughter will do without getting nippy.
