What your saying makes sense if your not familiar with dogs in general.
However, the little ones can be quite nippy only because they are protecting themselves where the larger dog, such as lab, golden retriever etc are
quite family orientated and child friendly. Rarely do you read anything about
these types of dogs biting children expecially if raised from puppyhood with
the child or children. I would most definately get a larger dog as opposed to a toy dog for this age child. Because the child and dog are small does not
mean the dog will not bite. Yorkies are BIG dog's in little bodies and can be
quite aggressive if treated badly.
