I would not get a Yorkie with a 9 month old. There are many threads here where someone's Yorkie has been injured or killed by a young child. I know of at least one where a Yorkie was killed when a toddler who were learning to walk, fell on him and another where a child pushed over a child gate onto a Yorkie and killed him.

Not only is having a Yorkie around a young child dangerous for the Yorkie, but imagine how bad your child will feel if she hurts it.
