My husband was at his mother's house in south Terrebonne Parish all day today changing out her water heater. She's elderly and could be affected by the high tides and wind where she is. At my urging, he offered her to come to our house for the night. She took him up on the offer and I'm glad she did. I wouldn't want to be way "down the bayou" with the winds coming through tonight and having to worry whether the water was overflowing the bayou!
I don't expect the weather to be that bad here -- I think we'll be on the good side of the storm where the rain isn't bad (and tornados don't usually occur). I feel bad for those in Mississippi though. They've been dodging tornados all afternoon!
