Her Yorkie, Precious is 3 lbs and her Maltese, Maddy is 3.5 lbs. Then there was a Yorkie I saw at the mall the other day and the owners were really nice and friendly. My boyfriend and I chatted with them for a while and told them we were looking for a Yorkie. They let us play with theirs and hold her for a while. She was almost 4 lbs.
All of these dogs I mentioned are more than 2 years of age. I've also seen them at random outings before and they all looked about the same as the ones I have mentioned previously. So I have never seen a Yorkie 6-7 lbs or more before.
I have had a hard time finding a small one for the same reason you mentioned. Reputable breeders don't seem to have them often and when they do, they want a lot of money for them. Even more if it's a girl. At least that's my experience. Which is exactly why I fell into the trap I did. |
I just have to say...I have a little 5 lb rescue here right now and am amazed at what a tiny little thing he is. DH and I are both afraid of crushing him. 3 lbs is incredibly small...that being said, am I reading this right??? Did you decide to keep him???? Good luck whatever you do.
