I admit, my initial reaction was that wanting to get rid of a pup because it may not be the perfect size sounds harsh, shallow and downright wrong. That's my opinion -- and that's all it is. Also my opinion: This feeling was initially generated by someone feeling duped and resenting the hell out of it.

Consider -- she bought from a less than reputable breeder to begin with. Disappointing, but we all know it happens. Luckily, from vet reports, she got a healthy one! I think her biggest gripe is that she was duped into believing that a breeder can tell you -- with certainty -- how big a dog will get. I think she now understands this is almost never the case.

Clearly, she had a mind's eye vision of what she wanted. She also misunderstood -- and admitted in several subsequent posts -- that her assessment of 6 or 7 pounds for a dog was probably off.

Again, just my opinion, but since she has decided to keep the dog, we can probably be a lot more help to both her and the pup with encouragement. Not meant to slam anybody.
Great Post!!
