I would never treat my dog badly because he was big, but I couldn't do as many things as I want with him. I couldn't take him everywhere like I wanted to and I'm not home that much. I wanted a tiny dog so I could take him everywhere with me. I also resent the fact that I didn't get what I wanted.
i wish i could convince you of how small a 5 or 6 lbs dog really is. maggie is pushing 6 lbs and she goes EVERYWHERE with me. i have left her home a handful of times and that is only because i was going to a restaraunt. otherwise, she goes with me!! and i carry her. i am not a big, or strong person either. i think when you get them as puppies, and you take them everywhere with you...their weight grows with you. it's like having a kid...you don't realize how much they are changing until you look at a picture of them and say "wow...where did the time go??" it's because you are around them all the time. kinda a different scenario here but the same point...you will not notice that your pup weighs in at 5 lbs. or 6 lbs. i promise!!! i have carried maggie through many flea markets and never felt the need to put her down, besides to let her potty. and i'm lazy if it feels strenuous to me, i won't do it LOL
