I agree with you that is does suck that you were lied too.
But I honestly have to say, I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy with TJ and Roxy - They are 7 lbs and 5 lbs - They truly are perfect!
I also have a maltese/yorkie mix. She is approx. 15 months old. She is the SAME size as TJ...BUT she only weighs 3.5 lbs. She has a petite frame, but she is the same height and length as TJ
So there you go...When you look at TJ and Cuddles together, you have NO IDEA that one weighs 2x the weight as the other!
I say keep him, he sounds like a love bug!
