Aww, don't beat yourself up about it
I'm the director of HR at my company and believe me, anyone that's in charge of hiring and firing, is used to 'lots' of emotion - from ranting and raving to tears. I don't hold a few minutes of emotion against any of my employees - I base promotions on the things that really count
