My little Brea had the same surgery in May. She was 7 months old then. She was a little over 3 lbs at the time.
She did great - no problems at all. It took her a while to start walking on it. Then she would walk on it, but not use the leg when she was running. Now she is finally starting to use it almost all the time.
I was really concerned about her before the surgery, too but everything went well and she woke up quickly and I brought her home the same day.
Her surgery cost a little over a grand.
