I'm paying 300, but that's because I have to pay for anesthetics, etc., and it's a private vet. And neutering IS simple, or atleast I would expect it would be for a good vet! They're supposed to know how to do this stuff, they should be doing it all the time! It's a little expensive in NY to neuter if you 1) have a dog, and 2) an income. ASPCA does it but for low income families. Some cities provide a subsidized neutering program, but here, it's only if you fall into low income that you can go there, or else, you gotta pay up. Otherwise, we'd all use the ASPCA and the government would have to subsidize a huge portion of their costs.
