Pray for Road Dog A friend of ours dog is very sick, They took him to the vet last week and I guess he was bite by a tick. He cant move and has been just laying for a week, They have him on medication, but hes cant move his body.
Tick Paralysis
This is a potentially fatal reaction to a paralyzing toxin secreted in the saliva of a female tick late in her feeding. Vectors include Rocky Mountain wood, American dog, and lone star ticks.
Signs/Symptoms:
Headache, vomiting, general malaise, loss of motor function and reflexes, followed by paralysis that starts in the lower body and spreads to the rest of the body. This can cause respiratory failure and death. Death in young children can occur in one or two days |
