hannah i would go to another vet...... it sounds like they are after your money..... two surgeries means you also have to pay the money twice.... and a sonogram that he doesnt need??? that is deffinatly a red flag to a "money monger vetrinarian", any vet who suggests that he do two surgeries for a simple neuter would be crazy in my opinion..... my toby is getting neutered next month at a low cost clinic (i trust them completely they are GREAT
) and the only thing they do is charge an extra fee if they have to dig around for a testical that hasnt dropped....... *it is costing me $30 for teh neuter....i wouldnt expect it to be over 40 or 50 dollars if the other testicle hasnt been dropped yet*
