I made this mistake with Chloe and had to have her practically shaved to the skin, which was so upsetting. I spoke with the breeder and she said next time put a few drops of Skin so Soft by Avon in her water, bathe and blow dry and then comb/brush. It should be a backward to forward motion, using one of those flat wire brushes that bend a little at the wire part. Hold the brush by placing your thumb on the handle and your fingers on the flat wood part of the brush head. That way you are in control and use the brush to get down to the skin. The hair will grow of course, but I was devastated and felt so bad because I was brushing, I thought the right way. |
