At the dog show this past week-end a lady showing a little Ch. Yorkies gave me some great infor on grooming and all. One thing she said to get mats out was to use the cowboy magic detangler shine and then with a knitting needle, work the knot out loosely then brush out with a slicker brush.
To keep the knots from getting that bad, you will need to brush and comb the dog once or twice a day, and make sure you use a good conditioner (She uses Matrix 2 Sleek.Look Smoothing System conditioner) but before you do brush, mist the coat (wet or dry coat) with Crown Royal. Also make sure you use a good conditioner. |
