I have not heard of a laminate cleaner that does not leave a sticky residue but I would love to know if someone finds one.
As for the water spots, this happens when you use water. The key to preventing water spots is to use as little water as possible and to dry the floor as fast as possible.
You can wipe the floor dry after mopping but this is a hassle and time consuming.
I have also heard of using Windex. The ammonia helps the floor to dry quickly but be careful because ammonia can be harmful to the floor if too much is used.
Or you can make your own cleaner by using a mix of 1/3 white vinegar, 1/3 rubbing alcohol, and 1/3 water and putting this in a spray bottle. Using this ratio, you should not be able to smell the vinegar when you finished cleaning the floor. Doing a small section of floor at a time, spray the floor and then use a microfiber mop or a Swiffer to go over the area. The vinegar helps to neutralize the water and the alcohol helps the floor to dry quicker, preventing spots. Some people also add a couple drops of dishwashing soap to the mixture but I have not tried it.
Also remember that, the darker the floors, the more water spots are going to stand out. I have dark mahogany floors which are beautiful but hard to keep clean.
