I've had my 10 lb. Duke on several hard floors and he hasn't scratched them. He also paws at the wood on the stands on the bed and he's not scratched them. Duke just went through a loose nail and I saw how painful it was for him and how he could barely walk.
I can't imagine doing that to all his nails and on purpose. So, my advice... just seeing how painful and miserable a loose (not even all the way pulled out), nail made my dog... even if you can declaw, I wouldn't. Buy some puppy booties.
