Hello,
Just wanted to let you know Trace had surgery the Friday before Memorial weekend and the cost here was about 675.00. They made an incision about 2 inches long or less and took out the bone which was about the size of a small marble. He came home that night and I kept him away from the other dogs because he was a little sore and I didnt want them jumping on him. He wanted out to play right away. By the next day he was ready to get out of the cage. I let him out and just kept a close eye on him and he was fine. He took antibiotics and pain killers for a week and he never really seemed to be in a lot of pain. It took him about a month to really start putting weight down on it. He does fine now but still hops on it once in a while especially when he is running. I think it is mostly out of habit. You are doing good by having surgery asap because the longer you wait the longer the recovery is. I waited a pretty long time due to my husband being out of work at the time or I think Trace would be doing even better. It really isnt as bad as it seems and is a pretty easy surgery with fairly good results in the end. Good luck.
