I really enjoyed reading these and the memories of how I used to do them. The best investment I made was to buy a topknot pillow. You lay you dog down on a table in front of you with the pillow around the neck (the ones that go around the neck give the dog the feeling that you are holding him). You will have to hold the dog down until he relaxes, then message him. Do this over several days and he will get to like laying in the pillow. After he likes it, then lay him down give the message and start playing with his topknot hair. Build up to doing the whole topknot. Let me know how it works for you, but it works great for me.
