:-) Yep. I'd say I talked to over half a dozen breeders in person and looked at well over a dozen dogs before putting a deposit down on our little girl.
The breeder we got her from also has maltese dogs and raises a few hybrids as well which made me a bit leery at first but as I began speaking with her about our selected puppy she had very clear definate reasons for why she had bred that bitch to that stud, what her goals were for the pairing, how past liters from that same pair have done, etc.
Made me feel very confident that this wasn't just a bunch of dogs running wild in her backyard, but rather carefully chosen for specific qualities that complemented each other well. :-)
I have to say - so far our girl has done nothing but impressed me. She has the perfect terrier attitude and this weekend we went out of town - she did PERFECTLY at the hotel, strutted about as if it were HER hotel, didn't get car sick, stayed in good spirits despite the car ride busy hotel, strangers , etc. Generally took it all in stride VERY well...even at just 11 weeks old.
Perfect girl! She suits us and our active lifestyle perfectly.
