Hi, is there not a PDSA anywhere near you, i think they still offer free veterinary care dont they? I'm not sure if you have to prove 'hardship' or anything though. I think i'd try that first before trying the 'benefit system' one, i know theres a mass of benefit fraud going on anyway, but would be horrible if you ended up being done for fraud all for trying to help a stray pup.
