I used to work in a store that sold carpeting and it can be done. You can even do it yourself if you are good at things like that. I would cut a perfect small rectangle out of the carpet where she chewed the hole and then using a carpet knife which you can buy at any hardware type store to cut the new piece the same size as the piece you just cut out. Buy some double stick carpet tape and cover the place with it was before sticking down the new piece. Make sure your nap is going the same way as the entire carpet and that should do it.
