Tink didn't have LT, she has Legge Perthes disease, but she did have to have surgery to remove the ball of her hip bone. It was horribly expensive, but now she is running around like nothing happened. The only time you can tell is when she stands still and lifts that leg that doesn't have a hip joint anymore. Just two months ago! She is 10 mo. old.
I hope your little babies will weather the storm and be good as new after their surgeries. I think you'll be glad you did it. They won't have near the pain afterward.
