 Walking on a loose leash.
I am in a training class at Petco, and the instructor told us that as soon as the dog starts pulling,, you need to "stand like a tree" (don't move at all). They will soon realize that when they pull they dont get anywhere.
Another way to train them to walk next to you, is to have a treat and hold it down by their nose and have him follow it along side of you, and give it to him every few feet and give him praise for walking next to you.
